Emanuel Lepcha, a BJP candidate from Bhalukhop Gram Panchayat in Kalimpong, West Bengal, and her family were violently attacked by BGPM goons. Darjeeling MP Raju Bista voiced his distress over this incident and blamed the ruling party for spreading fear through politics. The assault happened today when four men linked to the BGPM party stormed Lepcha’s home. They attacked her young daughter and destroyed her vehicle parked outside the home. The daughter is severely hurt and scared. This horrifying incident has left the family traumatized and alarmed the local community.
Raju Bista, while speaking out against the incident, criticized the West Bengal State Election Commission, the District Administration, and the West Bengal Police for allegedly functioning as frontline cadres of the TMC. He accused them of sheltering and protecting the goons affiliated with the ruling party.
The MP applauded the courage displayed by the BJP candidates, their families, and the voters, who, despite the negativities surrounding the panchayat elections, turned out in large numbers to vote for change.
